Leonardo Garza is a Mexican architect and designer based in Mexico City. During his last years of study, he began working on the first Tadao Ando project built in Latin America, influencing his sensitive and minimalist aesthetic.
Later, Leonardo lived in New York City and worked at a high-end fashion retail interior design firm, where he further developed a mature sensibility and understanding of detail and materials. That is when he started his own design practice, GARZA.
Recently Leonardo was featured in the printed New York Magazine “AN Interior”, under the section “In the Know” where they highlight uprising designers with a background in Architecture. He has also exhibited in several galleries or fair events between New York and Mexico City, some of them have been Sight Unseen, Pink Essay, Ballista Space & Collectible Fair to name a few.
GARZA explores simplicity, both visually and in the manufacturing process. Subtlety, timelessness, attention to detail, and hints of unexpected design features are principles that make the ethos of GARZA a platform for exploration of the contemporary object, seeking an encounter between art and industrial design.
